Events

Emerging Issues is an adult discussion program that includes pre-readings, viewing a video together in class then breaking into small discussion groups.  In July our topic is Beyond Wind & Solar: Developments in Alternative Energy. Please note that by registering for this program, you are agreeing to share your email address with Bob Shallenberg and other participants in the Emerging Issues program. Watch preview video here.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Registration will open on June 30 at 10am on this same webpage. All participants must have an active Summit County Library card. Library cards are free for Summit County residents/employees and $25/year for nonresidents. Class size is limited to 30 participants, first come first served.

All classes will be held in the Auditorium of the Kimball Junction Branch Library. Please contact Murph at smurphy@summitcountyutah.org or 435-336-3069 if you have any questions.  

Chess Club meets on the *2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at the Kimball Junction Branch in Room 133 downstairs by the DMV from 6:00-7:45 p.m. Chess sets and refreshments will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own sets as well. The group is intended for ages 18+. If someone younger would like to join, we ask that a parent or another adult accompany them. All abilities are welcome.

Unstructured Play Time in our air-conditioned auditorium for children age 0-5 and their caregivers. Dolls, cars, duplos, puzzles, pretend play--so much to play with and explore. Meet new friends, young and old. Every Tuesday, June 17 through August 5, 10:30 am-12:00 pm. Drop in anytime.

Join us every Tuesday, June 3 through August 12, at 10:30 am for singing, dancing, books, puppets and all kinds of early literacy fun. For our youngest patrons (ages 0-3) and their caregivers.

It's an old-fashioned Drive-In Movie!  Well, kinda. Tuesday, July 15, 1:00 pm. Kid's create their own cardboard box cars, find a parking spot in the auditorium, grab some popcorn and watch Disney's Inside Out 1 on our big screen. We'll have the boxes and some supplies, but feel free to bring anything else to make a super-cool car. Car assembly begins at 1:00 pm. Movie at 1:30. Rated PG. This film lasts 1 hour and 35 minutes.
